Synopsis

Will Webb marries Mary Lane, an actress in amateur theatricals, and settles down to domestic life. Natalie Woods, an old girl friend of Will's about whom Mary has previously known nothing, returns from Europe and sets out to recapture Will's affections. Mary is extremely discomfited and jealous. When an old friend of hers, Tom Lawrence, offers her the leading part in one of his plays, she gladly accepts it. Will vows to miss the opening but finally attends at the urging of Natalie, his companion for the evening. During the performance Mary's putty nose comes loose and she falls down a staircase onstage, closing the play on opening night. After this shortened "run," Lawrence attempts to force his attentions on Mary, but she rejects him. Mary and Will are reconciled and renew their domestic life together.
