Synopsis
Detective Robert Strong serves a 6-month "prison term" so as to gain the confidence of Hugh Cameron, a youth who participated in a robbery, and thus find out where the money is hidden. Serving the last few months of his 2-year term, Hugh confides to Strong the name of his partner, Blackie, who was not caught, and arranges to meet Strong at a certain hotel on his release. Something in his manner causes Blackie and Hugh to suspect Strong, who has fallen in love with Hugh's sister, Mary. The two crooks bind Strong and Mary and go to claim the money, hidden in the floor of a bank building. Blackie returns to kidnap Mary, having been doublecrossed by Hugh; but Strong escapes, shoots it out with Blackie on his getaway boat, and recovers Mary. Hughie gets off lightly, and all ends happily.
