Synopsis

Marie and Helen, two sophisticated New York chorus girls who size up all their male acquaintances by the number of ciphers in their Bradstreet ratings, befriend Letty Crane, a poor girl from the country, when she fails to get work at the theater. Letty is befriended also by Bob Garrett, who lives in a nearby apartment. The girls purchase some clothes for Letty on credit, and their various attempts to avoid the collector provide comic moments. Letty, like Helen, is led down the primrose path by Bartley Mortimer, a wealthy married man. Cynthia, who also loves Bart, goes in Letty's place to elope with him, and they are killed at a railroad crossing. Heartbroken by the ruin of both her romance and career, Letty prepares to leave, but she is convinced of Bob's love and stays with him.
