Synopsis
Vera Stanford, happily married, is tormented by a foolish moment in her past when she succumbed to the embraces of Herbert Brooks. Brooks marries into Vera's set of friends, and when they all meet at Bar Harbor, the sight of him preys so strongly on her conscience that she confesses the misdeed to her husband, who then suspects Hugh Graham, an artist, to be the man concerned. After Vera has been made miserable by her husband's obsession with vengeance, they finally decide to wipe the slate clean.
