Synopsis

Maslun, a half-breed, is entrusted with the tribal secret (that there is gold in Dead Man's Canyon on tribal land) just before his foster father, Chief Amek, dies. He finds and adopts a waif (a white girl), whom he names Little Fawn. She later goes into a trance in which the dead chief speaks through the child's lips and urges Maslun to find the gold for the tribe's sake. Maslun's attentions to Margaret Kenyon, a white girl who according to the white man's law owns the canyon, arouses the tribe's suspicions. Warriors kidnap Margaret, but she is rescued by Maslun. Little Fawn goes into another trance (which almost kills her) in which Amek informs Maslun of the gold's location. He goes to the canyon, is there attacked by his tribe, but is rescued by a band of cowboys. It is revealed that he is really a full-blooded white man, Margaret tells him of her love, and the gold is divided between the Indians and Margaret.
