Synopsis

Joanne Fitzhugh leaves her husband Mortimer when she learns that he has fathered a child with another woman. Then, when she gets word that he has died in British Columbia, she goes there to make sure that he is, indeed, dead. After apparently locating Mortimer's grave, she falls in love with a novelist, John Aldrous, but also must fight off the advances of the unscrupulous Bill Quade. Determined to have Joanne, Bill gets one of his cronies, who is, in fact, Mortimer, to help him kidnap her. When they come for her, however, John starts shooting at them, and eventually kills both men, after which he and Joanne make plans for their life together.
