Synopsis
While Danny Regan, an Irish immigrant, is trying on his brother's police uniform, an automobile accident causes him to rush out of the house and into the street, where, naturally, he is mistaken for a police officer. He meets Ann, a young girl who is actually one of a group of jewel thieves. Danny's failure to arrest the thieves--when instructed to do so by a visiting jeweler who has been flimflammed--causes trouble for his brother, Pat. Attempting to clear Pat, Danny is shot by one of the crooks. Danny's courage inspires Ann to give herself up. After serving her prison sentence, she and Danny, now a full-fledged officer of the law, marry.
