Synopsis
Tom, the sheriff of an adjoining town, is called upon to catch a band of swindlers who are fleecing visitors at the town fair, and en route he saves the life of Snowshoe, a Negro man who becomes his inseparable companion. Tom accosts Dawn O'Day, boss of a mortgaged ranch and the daughter of an invalid father. Gates, a leading citizen who is the crook leader, agrees to get her a driver in an obstacle race, and Tom offers his services but is waylaid by Gates's agents. At the last minute he escapes, takes the substitute driver's place, and wins a thrilling race.
