Synopsis

Evelyn Dare's wealthy parents decide to include her in their will only if she marries millionaire David Westebrook. Both Evelyn and David approve of the match, but David, who is as interested in sociology as matrimony, decides that Evelyn must get rid of her frilly clothes and live with him "among the people" in a factory town. Shortly after the wedding, Evelyn rebels against her new lifestyle and leaves David. Finally, however, she recognizes the worth of David's rejection of luxury and, deciding to devote her life to social work, returns to him.
