Synopsis

When "Satan" Humphrey, the commander of the tramp ship Glory Ann , is killed during a mutiny, his daughter Paula takes command of the ship, holding the crew at bay with a pistol. Soon after, the schooner picks up John Hadlock, the survivor of a shipwreck, and Paula nurses him back to health, falling in love with him in the process. John helps her in quelling the crew's rebellion and later goes ashore at San Francisco to retrieve Paula's sister Glory, from whom she has been separated since birth. After setting sail for the South Seas, the crew again mutinies and sets fire to the ship. John and the women escape in a raft and Paula, believing that John prefers her more feminine sister, is about to kill herself when she is rescued by her discovery of John's love.
