Synopsis

Chrystal is about to marry her elderly guardian, Terry Dunnivan, a sea captain who adopted her as a child, when Ned Fairweather, her sweetheart who has been missing at sea for 2 years, is rescued from a wrecked steamer. Hearing of their plans, Ned persuades Terry to marry her, but, suspecting Ned's true feelings, the old captain follows him to the Arctic, fills Ned's place aboard ship, and dies several years later, while Ned finds happiness with Chrystal.
