Synopsis

On the eve of his departure for New York, gifted violinist Pierre Fournel learns that his sister Gabrielle, who has inspired him to greatness, has been impregnated by the village scoundrel, Rouget. After relinquishing his life savings to clear Rouget of a robbery charge so that he can take care of Gabrielle, Pierre departs for the city. Once in New York, his playing attracts the attention of wealthy socialite Kathleen Noyes, thus sparking the jealousy of her fiancé, Rupert Blake. Blake determines to ruin Pierre, and joins forces with the embittered Rouget to frame his rival for the theft of Katherine's jewels. Upon discovering that Rouget never married Gabrielle, Pierre confronts the miscreant, who reforms and exposes Blake's plot. Katherine then recognizes her fiancé's corruption and her love for Pierre and the two reconstituted couples - Katherine and Pierre, Gabrielle and Rouget - make plans to marry.
