Synopsis

Sally Snape, a gifted dancer from London's poverty-stricken Limehouse district, is on her way home from her company picnic when she is struck by a car driven by Lady Dorothea. Desirous of compensating Sally for her injuries, and recognizing her natural grace, Lord Kidderminster, a passenger in the offending vehicle, secures the waif a job as a model. Her graceful antics excite the attention of a theater manager who, with Kidderminster's financial backing, makes her the leading lady of his show. Soon the Lord begins to become infatuated with his protégé, arousing Lady Dorothea's jealousy and the disdain of his parents, Lord and Lady Fortive. Dorothea plots to break up the burgeoning romance by placing Sally in a compromising situation with Kidderminster, but her plan backfires when he proposes instead. After meeting Sally, Lord and Lady Fortive recognize her purity and innocence, her "heart of a child," and offer the pair their blessings.
