Synopsis
Believing that his wife, Martha, has been unfaithful, cruel Capt. Simon Gant sets her adrift in a small boat with their son, Danny, whom he suspects to have been fathered by Glenister, his first mate. Gant puts Glenister in chains and tortures him daily to extract a confession of his guilt. Years later, Gant shanghais stranded chorus girl Goldie Kane and a boy he believes to be Danny. Danny has sworn vengeance on his father, but Gant puts him in chains along with Glenister. The ship's crew mutinies, the ship explodes, and all escape except Gant and Glenister.
