Synopsis

Sid Gerue, a saloon keeper in the rough Alaskan goldrush town of Kilisnoo, loses his daughter, called "Little Pal," to the brutal "Black Brand" in a game of dice. In the fight that follows, Sid is killed, and Little Pal seeks refuge with John Grandon, an Easterner who has come to Alaska to mine his deceased brother's claim. When John falls ill, the lovestruck Little Pal nurses him back to health while working the mine with the aid of her loyal friend and servant, Cultus. With the arrival of John's wife, Little Pal is heartbroken, but upon learning that he will die if he remains in the harsh Alaskan wilderness, she nonetheless resolves to obtain the money for his return to civilization. She and Cultus rob the sluice box of a rich claim, but Black Brand is suspected of the crime and shot. As John and his wife depart, Little Pal decides to commit suicide but instead finds comfort in Cultus' love.
