Synopsis

After robbing a wealthy banker, who dies of shock during the holdup, Hawk Chovinski decides to desert his half sister, Poppy Brown, and become a gentleman. He learns deportment from a dancing teacher and then enters high society, where he meets Yolande Cowles, the banker's daughter. Immediately infatuated with Hawk, about whom she knows nothing, Yolande breaks off her relationship with Martin Drake, a settlement worker, and makes plans to marry her new suitor. Just before the wedding, however, Poppy locates Yolande, and tells her everything about Hawk's past. When she realizes that her fiancé is the man responsible for her father's death, Yolande has Hawk arrested by the authorities, and then returns to Martin, whom she soon marries.
