Synopsis

Emilio Rodríguez de Viana, a congenial but mysterious trainer of wild horses, works on Don José Alvarado's ranch in California, but is warned to stay away from his daughter, Elvira, who is betrothed to Manuel, son of a neighboring rancher. Emilio discovers that his friend Anita has been involved with Manuel and that they have had a daughter together. Emilio professes his love for Elvira, but social barriers keep them apart. On the eve of Elvira's wedding to Manuel, Anita visits her and reveals all. Eventually, Don José approves of a marriage between Emilio and his daughter, while Manuel is obliged to marry Anita.

Notes

This was a remake of The Love Gambler (1922). According to documents in the Twentieth Century-Fox Records of the Legal Department and the Twentieth Century-Fox Produced Scripts Collection at the UCLA Arts-Special Collections Library, William J. Scully participated in the direction of this film, but David Howard was accorded the official credit. Some sources include Juan Torena and Luana Alcañiz in the cast, but their participation in the released film has not been confirmed and is doubtful.
This film played in Barcelona, Spain under the title Ladrón de amor and in Havana, Cuba as El domador de mujeres.
