Synopsis

Convict Crooky Scruggs escapes from prison and goes to New York where he meets Westerner Bob Roberts. The two become friends and they check into a posh hotel together. Meanwhile, Wall Street broker John W. Dough, whom Roberts unsuccessfully had tried to see, needs money and decides to get it from Roberts. Dough and his secretary, Jack Willis, mistake Crooky for Roberts and take him to their office. There he flirts with Dough's sister Susan and daughter Dora after giving Dough Robert's check. The police arrest Roberts, believing him to be Crooky, but soon his real identity is established, and they all look for Crooky at Dough's house. He escapes just in time and manages to get back inside prison just before the police can arrest him for stealing Susan's jewels.
