Synopsis
Jimmie Bates, expelled from school for playing a trick on the teacher, is severely punished by his father and in his resentment, decides to run away from home. He takes up with some tramps and after three years of life on the road, ends up with a prison sentence for larceny. After his release, Jimmie joins some crooks in a plan to rob the bank in his home town where his father works as the cashier. After a chance meeting with Mary, his boyhood sweetheart, however, Jimmie changes his mind. In an attempt to prevent the robbery, Jimmie is wounded and arrested for the crime. Managing to escape from jail, Jimmie is nursed to health by Mary and then sets out to capture the real thieves. Finally apprehending them, Jimmie forces a confession of his innocence. Hailed as a hero, he reconciles with his father and begins life anew with Mary.
