Synopsis

Willoughby Quimby, a divorced American in Paris, receives a wire from his ex-wife informing him that his daughter, Elisabeth, will soon arrive in France on a visit. Anticipating a prim and proper young lady, Will gives up his mistress and dry martinis, but he needn't have bothered, for Elisabeth is in search of a wild time. She quickly becomes involved with a French artist and considers entering into a companionate marriage with him. Freddie Fletcher, Will's boon drinking companion, tries to keep Elisabeth away from the artist and is soundly drubbed for his troubles. Elisabeth is at first sympathetic to Freddie and later loving, eventually returning with him to the United States. Will again takes up residence at his old place in Harry's American Bar.
