Synopsis

Chief Brave Bear and his people gather at the Navajo reservation to confront a problem: a group of men, headed by Will Newton, seeks to force them off their desert lands. Perkins and Hi-Lo meet the exploring party of Elias Manton and his daughter, Mary; posing as desert rats, they are hired as guides. They encounter John Curry, a friend of the Indians whose cordiality arouses their suspicion; Newton tries, unsuccessfully, to dissuade them from continuing their work in the desert and casts aspersions on Curry. Manton is kidnapped by Newton's men, but Curry rescues him after a search. Newton starts for the oil claims, while the Navajo prepare to defend their sacred altars. Curry tries unsuccessfully to placate the Indians and is shot by Newton, who fails to listen to reason. United States Cavalry arrive and place Newton's men under arrest, and Mary realizes the worth of her protector.
