Synopsis
To save her father's life and diminishing estates, Emanuella marries Duke Cathos de Alvia, a grotesque hunchback, although she loves Leonardo, his handsome younger brother. Emanuella and Leonardo continue their affair after the wedding until they are discovered "flagrante delicto" by Cathos after he is informed of their unfaithfulness by Bopi, a malicious court jester. Having stationed himself at the place of rendezvous, Cathos slays both, kissing each one before the fatal stabbing. In an alternative ending Bopi and Cathos stab each other to death and the lovers are forgiven by the dying hunchback.
