Synopsis

Marmaduke Grandon, a clerk in a drugstore, wants to get into the movies and is given the chance when an actor dies suddenly during the shooting of a film. Marmaduke is hired to take his place, but he never gets in front of the cameras, for on his way to work the first day, dressed in cowboy duds, he is forced to exchange clothes with Gentleman Jack, a crook on the lam. Jack takes Marmaduke's place with the movie company until Marmaduke shows up and runs him off, ruining the heroine's big scene. Later, during the filming of a scene at a local bank, Jack uses the company as a diversion and robs the bank. Marmaduke again intervenes, captures Jack, ruins the picture, and ties up the leading lady for life.
