Synopsis
Richard Gordon, an impoverished composer, writes a hauntingly beautiful song, and Mary Talbot finds him working in the cabaret where she sings. Alicia Harrison, a rich widow, becomes infatuated with Richard and appoints herself as his patroness, promising to introduce him to Signor Malesco, a prominent impresario. The introduction does not take place, and loyal Mary persuades Richard to approach Malesco on his own. Malesco is impressed with Richard's talent and promises him a great future. Richard at last realizes his love for Mary and asks her to share his success and happiness.
