Synopsis
Mary Shelly, sole supporter of her brother and sister, both invalids, is being courted by a mysterious stranger who urges her to marry and thus resolve her financial difficulties. Interest on the mortgage is due, and when her brother produces some money she applies part of it to the mortgage, then finds that the money, wrongfully obtained, is counterfeit. Betting the rest on a horserace, Mary loses it all. Brokenhearted, the girl is about to marry the stranger, who turns out to be the leader of the counterfeit gang, when Secret Service agent Richard Wayne, with whom Mary has fallen in love, exposes the mystery man and earns himself a wife.
