Synopsis

During World War I, patriotic stenographer Emmy Little is courted by Sergeant Eddie Short and by her boss A. Schlobb's assistant, Otto B. Schott. Since Emmy has promised to marry the more patriotic of her two suitors, Otto, who is actually a German spy, tells her he has captured a number of German agents and she accepts his proposal on the spot. After the wedding, Otto's compatriots lock Emmy's uncle, an American colonel, in the cellar and turn on the gas, but Eddie rescues him and captures the spies. Next Eddie catches up with the honeymooners and reveals Otto as a spy who has two wives in Germany. Emmy becomes the wife of a lieutenant after Eddie's promotion.
