Synopsis
A small New England town loses its head over the discovery of oil just outside the town by Bruce Merlin, a dapper young man from the city. With the exception of Zannon Carthy, the town patriarch, everyone invests in the venture. Jim Biggers, who is studying engineering with Carthy's financial assistance, saves the community by exposing Merlin as a swindler. Jim loses his sweetheart, Helen Andrews, to Merlin, but later he finds that her sister, Amy, is a better bet.
