Synopsis

Dick Harrison, a young American lawyer, goes to Germany to represent the settlement of the Waldorf estate, while the heiress, Marie, retains for her legal counsel Eric von Hagar because of his long association with the family. Dick accuses Hagar of furthering his own interests in the settlement, thus incurring his enmity, but winning the admiration of Marie and her dog Rinty. At the outbreak of war, Marie becomes a nurse and remains indifferent to Eric's advances, though he is now a captain. Dick's plane is downed nearby, Rinty extricates him from the wreckage, but Dick is captured. Eric orders him executed, forging the general's signature, but Dick and Rinty escape. Following the peace settlement, they are reunited with Marie.
