Synopsis

Suburbanite Larry Brice and his friend Rolliston stay in town carousing at cabarets and roadhouses after telling their wives that they will be late because of business. Larry brings home Sammy, an excitable orchestra leader, and leaves the next morning without informing his wife Hetty. After a day of searching for clothes to wear, Sammy disrupts Hetty's meeting of suffragettes, who think he is her lover. That night, he and Larry meet Rolliston to go to cabarets again. Mrs. Rolliston complains to Hetty, and together they write a phony love note to Hetty to make Larry jealous. Larry argues with Hetty after seeing the note and leaves. Sammy, in pajamas, mistakes Larry's mother-in-law's room for his own, and then Hetty mistakes Sammy for Larry and kisses him. As Larry returns, he hears a violent racket and finds his mother-in-law beating Sammy. Sammy returns to the city, having had enough of commuter life.
