Synopsis
While awaiting his discharge at an eastern Army camp, Lieut. Frank Hayden thrashes Captain Kincaid for attacking a girl, and to avoid court-martial he deserts. In the desert, he rescues Tom Doyle from dying of thirst and takes him home, where he falls in love with Tom's daughter, Kitty, and assumes the name of Austin. When he and Doyle become partners and discover a vein of gold, David Collins, a jealous rival, informs Kincaid, who arrives and recognizes Hayden. Threats of disclosure cause Hayden to relinquish his share, but when he saves Kincaid from a mine flood, Kincaid clears Hayden of guilt.
