Synopsis

Circus owner Albert Wells, after inspecting the animal tents during a storm, returns to find his wife, Corinne, in the arms of lion tamer Bert Colton, and in the ensuing struggle Corinne is accidentally killed. Wells is arrested on Colton's accusation, is tried, and is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. His child, Fanchon, grows up to become an aerial star, believing her parents are dead. Wealthy young Bob Stone loves her--to the disapproval of Colton. Wells sees her at a prison performance and escapes in a clown disguise; when Colton plots to break up the lovers' engagement, Wells turns a lion on him; he then rescues Fanchon from the path of an elephant stampede but is himself killed.
