Synopsis
Hearing that Dick, her fiancé and the father of her unborn child, has died while prospecting, Millicent tries to drown herself. Piffle the Clown, in love with Millicent, saves her and proposes marriage to give the child a father. Millicent accepts, but after the marriage Dick reappears. Learning that Millicent has married, Dick does not pursue her but instead concentrates on selling shares in his mine. When the mine becomes a bonanza, Dick tries to buy back all the shares, but one man will not sell: Piffle, who has become a successful banker. Going to Piffle's house to make a deal, Dick meets Millicent and hears the story of her marriage. From another room Piffle witnesses the reunion and decides to leave his wife and return to the circus so that Millicent and Dick can be together.
