Synopsis

George Newell, Jr., son of a millionaire, is a constant source of worry to his father and invalid mother. When he is injured in an automobile accident and his girl companion is killed, his mother dies of the shock and Newell, Sr., sends him from home. George goes to war and loses his memory as a result of shell shock. Alice Winston, a nurse, brings him back to health, and their friendship develops into love and marriage. He collapses from overwork while working in a shipyard, and Alice takes him to a sanitarium. While convalescing he is recognized by Newell and his nephew, Harvey; they fail to acknowledge the fact, however, to avoid changing the family will. But through Bridget, the maid, Alice brings George back home, and in his mother's room the sight of the wheelchair restores his memory; he then is reconciled with his father.
