Synopsis

A gang of bandits known as the Wolf Pack is prevented by Larry O'Donnell, the fighting sheriff, from robbing a packtrain loaded with platinum. Larry puts the precious metal in a jail cell for safekeeping, but he is overpowered and the sacks of ore are stolen. When Larry pursues the bandits out of town, he is struck on the head by one of them; and for several months he loses his memory. Using Larry's disappearance as proof of guilt, Jeff Bains, the real leader of the Wolf Pack, convinces the townspeople that Larry is a criminal and has himself elected sheriff. When Larry regains his memory, he obtains documentary proof of Bains's guilt and seals it in an envelope, which he gives to Madge Blair, the postmistress from the East, with instructions to mail it to the governor. Discovering the existence of the letter, Bains orders his men to rob the mail stage, but the resourceful Madge has telegraphed the information incriminating Bains to the State Capitol, instead of mailing it, and the bandits are captured. Larry is reinstated as sheriff, and things look good for his future with Madge.
