Synopsis
In the western town of Shady Bend, blacksmith Tom Reynolds and poolroom proprietor Jim Dalton are rivals for Jane Anderson, the sheriff's daughter. Arriving in Shady Bend, Red Hepner and his sidekick, Steve, are attracted to a $1,000 reward offered to the captor of a "mysterious bandit" who has been terrorizing the community. Red and Steve help the sheriff and his deputy ferret out the mysterious bandit (Dalton) when Dalton tries to pin a recent bank robbery on Tom Reynolds. Red stops Dalton with his slingshot when he tries to slip out of town with Jane and the stolen money after convincing Jane that Tom is the culprit. Red and Steve give the reward to Tom and Jane as a housewarming gift before they leave Shady Bend to continue their wandering.
