Synopsis

Anita Gray, the spoiled daughter of an American millionaire, is lucky with dice. She gives a ride to a jewel thief and is implicated in a robbery he perpetrates. Pursued to the docks, she boards a steamer and is forced to work her passage to China. There she bribes a Chinese steward with a diamond ring to disguise her as an Oriental, and she escapes to the mainland. Her father, learning of her plight, cables $1,000 for her to Hamlin, an agent in China, and when she denies her identity, Hamlin seeks the aid of the police commissioner, Satterlee. She repulses the advances of Rastillac, the hotel owner, but agrees to work as his "dice woman." Hamlin tells her of her father's cable and becomes infatuated, but so does the Datto of Mandat, a potentate who pays off Rastillac, then hypnotizes and kidnaps her. Hamlin tries to rescue her and is himself captured, but they are both freed by Satterlee and find happiness on their voyage to the United States.
