Synopsis

Sam Ramsey, a ranch foreman, is engaged to Helen Hand, who has a jealous disposition. She becomes furious and leaves him when he receives a letter in a woman's handwriting. He quits his job and leaves the ranch in response to the letter, which is later revealed to have been written by his sister, Mary, who had married Andy Walker, a horsethief. He finds her in a place called "The Devil's Bowl," in the Mexican badlands, where her husband has taken her. Walker gets the drop on Sam, compelling him to change clothes, and Sam is captured and branded on his forehead as a thief. Later, when Sam and his sister attempt to get out of Mexico, she is ambushed and killed by Walker. The Mexican authorities accuse Sam of the murder, but he finds the real culprit, then returns to patch up his engagement.
