Synopsis

Rosa Carillo loses her singing job with a bankrupt Italian opera company and goes to work in Tony Bonchi's delicatessen rather than comply with the wishes of artist Billy Leeds, who has offered to "take care" of her. Billy has quarreled with his model and sweetheart Maria, with whom Rosa believes Tony to be in love. When Tony is arrested on a false charge, Rosa tells Billy that she will accept his proposition if he will get Tony out of jail, but she brings Maria to the appointed meeting place to be safe. Tony rushes to the house, and after learning that Maria is his long-lost sister, he proposes to Rosa, while lovers Billy and Maria are reunited.
