Synopsis

Smalltown boy Jim Montgomery is framed by a pair of burglars, arrested for murder, and sentenced to Sing Sing for life. There he makes friends with "Old Bill," his cellmate. When news arrives of Jim's mother's illness, Bill helps him escape, and after attending her funeral Jim goes to California. He becomes an officer in a prosperous company and falls in love with the owner's daughter, Molly Bryant. Despite his past she believes him to be innocent, and they are married. A detective finds Jim but decides to leave matters as they stand; later, he is cleared by a criminal's last-minute confession.
