Synopsis

To save the family estate, young Cuban Aurora Fernandez must marry Don Armada, her mother's creditor, even though she is in love with Pedro, who is a fisherman. Before the wedding, however, Don Armada seduces Celida, Pedro's sister, and so, after the ceremony, Pedro attacks Don Armada and blinds him. Doctors restore his vision, but he feigns blindness in order to spy on Aurora and Pedro, who have renewed their romance. Then, having seen enough, he stabs Pedro, but, still weak from the initial attack and from his operation, Don Armada dies from over-excitement. Aurora nurses Pedro back to health and then, finally, is able to marry the man she has always loved.
