Synopsis

Country girl Jean Haskins marries Gregory Van Houten, a sophisticate of no moral values, who soon tires of his naïve little wife. Van Houten uses James Hanley's advances to Jean as a pretense for divorce, and Jean, cast out, returns home to find that her own father has disowned her. Vowing vengeance on Van Houten for destroying her life, Jean lures him from his new wife and child and then murders Hanley and frames Van Houten for the crime. As Van Houten awaits the verdict for his crime, he falls dead in his cell, and Jean is left to contemplate the tragic ending of her youthful romance.
