Synopsis

In divorce proceedings Theodore Ainsley wins custody of his older daughter Millicent, while his wife Elinor gets the younger, Jean. Unable to stand being apart, the girls run away together but soon are caught by court authorities, who begin another custody hearing. Young lawyer Horace Craig handles the girls' case and describes their parents as unworthy of custody. He proposes to the court that Millicent get married and then be given custody of Jean. He then proposes to Millicent, who accepts him, and the court makes the couple Jean's guardians.
