Synopsis

Chickie, a poor stenographer, is initiated by a high-stepping girl friend into the speedy circle of millionaire Jake Munson, at whose parties she submits to the advances of Barry Dunne, a young law clerk. Munson later invites her to dinner and takes her to his apartment, where they run into Barry and his companion, Ila, a rich young girl interested in winning Barry's affections. Barry misunderstands Chickie's presence in Munson's apartment and goes to London to work, followed closely by Ila. Munson finally proposes to Chickie, but when she tells him that she is no longer a virgin, he repulses her. Chickie later discovers that she is pregnant and writes to Barry; Ila intercepts the letter and destroys it, falsely writing back that she and Barry are married. Chickie becomes a mother, and Barry, learning of her predicament, returns from London, assures her that he neither received her letter nor married Ila, and leads her to the altar.
