Synopsis

Just after the Civil War, Lieutenant Parker falls in love with Barbara Taylor, his colonel's daughter. When Parker finds out that Barbara prefers Captain Turner, he goes on a drunken spree, lands in jail and then escapes. He joins a wagon train to get away from the cavalry, but when Indians attack, he rides back to his post for help, even though he has been listed as a deserter. The soldiers finally subdue the Indians, but the fighting Parker dies of wounds received while riding for help. Because of his heroism, his fellow soldiers bury him with full military honors, and the colonel erases the desertion charge from his record.
