Synopsis
Norma O'Neill, a young and virtuous actress, is financially backed by Fergus Arlington, a friend of her late father. Unsuccessful at first, Norma finally becomes the reigning beauty of Broadway. Producer Darcy Roche is in love with her, but scandalous publicity causes him to believe that Arlington has more than a protective interest in her. Confronted with her alleged treachery, Norma, heartsick, leaves the stage. She is reported killed in an automobile accident. Later, when Roche meets Norma in California, she discloses that it was her understudy who died in the accident, and that she has come to live with her guardians, Fergus Arlington and his wife. The lovers are reunited.
