Synopsis

Heiress Madge Hemingway loves Jim Ogden, but because her mother is fond of titles, she must marry the money-hungry Count Van Tuyle. Unhappy with her European lifestyle, Madge leaves the count and returns to her mother's lakeside home, where she once again meets Jim. The count arrives, attempting to get his wife back, and to avoid him, Madge and Jim, whose romance is blossoming all over again, go for a canoe ride in the lake. The canoe sinks, and the couple is stranded for a night on a small island. When the count finds out, he suspects the worst, and so, after Madge's now disillusioned mother agrees to pay him off, he grants Madge a divorce so that she can marry Jim.
