Synopsis
Hargraves, the village Shylock, murders his ward, Robert Winters, on his 21st birthday when he learns that corporation representative Arnold Barcklay would like to purchase Robert's valuable invention. Hargraves' attempts to shift the blame for Robert's death onto Barcklay are thwarted by the dead man's faithful dog, Klondike, who drags into the courtroom Hargraves' jacket containing the missing blueprints for Robert's invention. Exonerated, Barcklay remains in town to pursue his romance with Robert's sister, Dorothy.
