Synopsis
Jerry Matthews is hired by Colonel Shelby to replace Hank Mitchell, whom Shelby suspects of being in league with rustlers. Shields, a neighboring rancher who holds a note on Shelby's stock, plots with the rustlers to ruin Shelby so as to foreclose on the ranch, where he (Shields) has discovered oil. Dynamite, Jerry's constant companion, is instrumental in revealing to Jerry the presence of oil on the land, and consequently Jerry is captured by the gang. Dynamite confronts Shields and takes his gun to Rose Shelby, the colonel's daughter, then returns and frees Jerry; a fierce fight ensues, and the rustlers are routed. Jerry arrives to prevent the sheriff from dispatching the foreclosure and exposes Shields's plotting.
