Synopsis

After 6 years of marriage, Barnaby Powers divorces his wife, Richmiel, and she returns home, taking their small boy, Oliver, with her. Barnaby soon follows after her to ask for possession of the child and falls in love with Ledda, Richmiel's sensitive cousin. Richmiel at first agrees to give up the child but spitefully changes her mind when she discovers that Barnaby and Ledda are in love. Oliver almost dies in an accident, however, and the neglectful Richmiel, who wants to go off with a new lover, finally agrees to give custody of the child to Barnaby and Ledda.
