Synopsis

Bob Lanier is given half ownership of a lumbermill by Martin Webb, who believes him to be in love with his daughter, Evelyn. Martin dies, and his manager plots to gain complete control by arousing the jealousy of Evelyn when Bob helps Leslie Houston, who is the sole support of her invalid father. Leslie falls in love with Bob but is kidnaped by a lumberjack at the orders of Evelyn. The scheming manager, his plans defeated, attempts to rob the office safe by putting dynamite in Bob's desk so arranged that a footfall on a loose board will set it off. The scheme backfires when the kidnaping lumberjack and the manager, left in the office to quarrel about the money in the safe, step on the loose board. The landscape spouts up in flames, Evelyn repents, and Bob and Leslie seek each other's embrace.
